Birmingham mayor fights to remove Confederate statue – CBS News
Alabama’s attorney general is suing the mayor of Birmingham for covering up a Confederate memorial. The 52-foot monument honoring Southern soldiers is now surrounded by wooden panels. It’s one of many Confederate symbols that could be removed in response to the weekend violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. Omar Villafranca reports.
