NBA legend Jerry West receives Medal of Freedom from Trump — live updates

NBA Hall of Famer Jerry West is receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump in the Oval Office Thursday.
West played for 14 years for the Los Angeles Lakers and then went on to coach and manage the Lakers afterward. Now 81 years of age, he's an executive board member for the NBA. The president said on West's birthday in May that he would be presenting him with the Medal of Freedom.
